Whoa…
Hurley just had a near death experience.
I was sitting on the couch getting ready to write a big ‘ol post about Hurley and the fact that even though he’s an inside dog and spends minimal time outside he can still muster up a stench to knock you over. Then my life was interrupted by a near death experience involving my dog.
I gave Hurley a bath tonite to rid him of his dog smell. All was well with our little world. H was being totally crazy attempting to dry his fur by running cheetah speed around the apartment. T was engrossed in a video game and I was getting ready to write my post as I said before. T looks over towards the TV and notices that there’s a stain on the office chair that Hurley usually sits in. Yes, we have two office chairs-but one is the most poorly designed chair ever so we refuse to sit in it. That’s another post for another time. Anyway…The stain was BLOOD!!! And then this like movie scene thing happened. Where you see one little bug then the camera pans out and you suddenly see a million bugs! Do you know what I mean? Well it was exactly like that, only instead of bugs there were little splotches of blood everywhere. In the kitchen, in the living room, on the couch…everywhere.
There was blood everywhere (did I say that already?)! I immediately FREAKED out. I grabbed Hurley and his back leg was covered in blood. I started crying and continued to freak. I stood there frozen, clutching my hurt baby in my arms and then T told me to snap out of it. We took him into the tub and washed his leg off to see what was going on. I couldn’t actually see a wound, but we’re assuming that the cat must have clawed him. She has suddenly grown a rather large set of balls and isn’t backing down when Hurley chases and torments her. After his leg was washed off, I sat with him while I put pressure on the leg to stop the bleeding. It must have been a small wound because he stopped bleeding pretty quickly. He’s in his crate right now because I don’t want him running around and re-opening the wound and spewing dog blood all over again. T cleaned most of the blood off the carpet, but there were a couple spots that we had to put carpet stuff on. Hopefully that will take care of it. I had to scrub our wonderful pleather/leather couch cushions, the bloood came off of them luckily. Oh yea, I stained my favorite T-Shirt with dog blood. I’ll probably still wear it. It is my favorite T-shirt after all.
So to sum it up:
Hurley didn’t die. Thank GOD! I’m also hoping that he has learned that harassing Chief isn’t smart.
The cat is gloating and plotting her next deadly move. She’s such a beotch.
T now knows what being a murderer feels like after cleaning up all that blood.
I’m glad that we have wipe-able furniture.
I’m obviously not as good as handling scary situations as I thought I was. I seriously starting crying instantly when I saw Hurley’s bloody leg. I’ll have to work on that one.
