Thank Goodness!

I’ve got some good news!

No, I didn’t win the lotto.  No I didn’t cure cancer.  But I did accomplish an amazing feat this Friday afternoon.

I found a pair of shoes to wear with the blue dress that I bought.  I seriously deserve a medal for this.  Maybe a trophy and a savings bond.  As you may have read…I have a wedding to go to the end of this month.  I had some confusion about the dress code, which is Semi Formal.

But I found a lovely dress. Even typing the word ‘dress’ makes me all itchy and uncomfortable. I can’t say that I’m looking forward to wearing a dress for a day, but I do like the dress so that helps. Honestly, finding the outfit was easier than I thought it would be. Normally, I hate clothes shopping. Nothing ever fits, I get upset about being fat, then I fume out of the store and pick up a candy bar or two at the nearest gas station. But finding this dress (which I bought at CATO) was surprisingly easy.

But this post isn’t about the dress. Been there, done that. This post is about the shoes that I found to wear with the dress.

Let’s take a minute to talk about my feet and why they make shoe shopping difficult.

First of all, I wear a size 11. Yes, you read that correctly…a size 11. Some of you probably didn’t know women’s shoes came in size 11. Well, they do. Most are hideous, and the boxes they come in are huge. On the up side, I get a little more material for the money. But shoes just don’t look as cute in size 11 as they do in say, a size 7.5. A pair of flats look like a pair ofcanoes in a size 11.

Secondly, I have really long toes. I think if I ever lose a finger, doctors can just put a toe on my hand and no one will know the difference.

And last, but not least. I have unnecessary bones on the sides of my feet. It’s like I was almost meant to have a sixth toe, but nothing developed. If we ever become bff’s, I may put a picture of my feet on here. Maybe not, that would be scary for all of you. And I want you to come back. I love you.

All of those issues, means that finding a cute pair of shoes is hard. I have plenty of shoes that I like, but none of they are appropriate for that blue dress. I really wanted a white or tan shoe since the dress is light and summery. A pair of black pumps just wouldn’t go. KWIM? I also wanted to go with something strappy like a sandal. I would have even went for a bling-y pair of flip flops. But-I found a cute pair of shoes that will look great with my dress. And they don’t make me want to cut me feet off from shoe pain! Double bonus. See how freakin’ cute they are!?

American Eagle shoes

Perfect!  It’s hard to tell in this pic, but the color is a little bit off-white.  They are closed toe, but still look summery and cute.  They even have a bit of a heel.  It’s a wedge heel, so I think I can make it through the day without spraining an ankle.  (Knock on wood)

I bought them at Payless.  I just checked them out on their website and these shoes also come in black.  If I still like these after the wedding, I may order the black pair.  When you find something this good in a size eleven-you have to buy it in every color.  It’s a secret rule that all giant footed women live by.  You can get a close up look at them and order yourself a pair here:

(Btw, if I wasn’t lazy I would have turned that giant, ugly link into a word like “Shoes”  that you could click on that would take you to the site, but I’m lazy so I just past the entire link in here.  Now get off my back already!)

I think these are pretty darn cute and meet al the criteria for covering not only my monkey toes, but the strange extra bones as well.  They feel really comfortable, and I hope I can say the same thing after wearing them all day.  I bought this pair of flip-flops as back up just in case these start to kill my feet:

I also did some gymnastics today!

Foot in Shoe

That bar that my foot is on is actually 7 and a half feet tall.  It’s hard to tell from the picture.  :)   I kid, I kid.  But even my giant Amazon-woman feet look kinda, sorta, smallish in these shoes.  I’m so happy that I found these shoes.  They are perfect!  Even my Mom will like these.  I think.

Guys…..I apologize for yet another girly-type post.  If you made it all the way through, thanks.  If not that’s OK too.  I’ll try to do something really manly that I can write about on my blog.  Skeet shooting?  Drag racing?  What?  I know the only girly things you want to hear about are boobs.

But I have to break it to the boob guys.  You are in the wrong place for boobs.  Believe you me.  :)

Exciting News for my millions of fans!!!!!!!!!!!:

PLSF will be having a contest to help me name the PLSF mascot that will be revealed tomorrow!  He’s so sweet you have to come back and see.  And when I say contest, I don’t mean the type of contest where you actually win something.  I mean one of those just for fun type contests.  Although, I suppose pride and glory can be considered a prize, right?

Tell your friends to stop by and visit.  Unless you want the pride and glory all to yourself.
