Deers

My trip home, although very short, was wonderful.  I have to say that Michigan is a beautiful state.  Now, I haven’t been to every state, and I’m sure they are all beautiful in their own special way, but Michigan has to be exceptionally beautiful.

Ever since I can remember, my family has been “going for drives.”  We (me, my Mom, my Grandma, sometimes other members) would go for a drive on the weekends when there was nothing more important or pressing to be done.  Going for a drive, for those of you who just don’t get it, means that you get in the car and drive around the country side looking at the fields, neighbors houses, animals, etc.  Animals being my favorite subject, of course.  I used to seriously HATE going for a drive. I would so much rather watch television or something important like that.  But as I’ve gotten older I’ve come to be more appreciativeof these weekend drives.  Since I don’t get to see too much scenery in Houston besides homeless people, construction vehicles, and Sonic drive in’s; seeing the Michigan country side was really refreshing.

Going for drives helps to open up conversation between who ever may be in the vehicle.  Conversation like, “Oh my gosh!  Look at those curtains.  Every time we drive by those curtains are messed up.”  And, “So and so used to live here, but now they live over there.”  And, “That corn is gettin’ pretty high.”  And for those of us who may be driving in the country side in the beautiful state of MI; the ever popular,  “Oh shit!!!!  Look out!!  It’s a deer in the road!”  I’m one of the few Michiganders who can say that they’ve never hit a deer in their vehicle before (knock on wood).  But during every drive, we see deer.  Deer in the fields being pretty and deer in the road looking stupidly at the vehicle coming towards them, and deer on the side of the road acting like they may jump our in front of your car.  Deer are tricky animals ya know.

But they sure are pretty.  I was able to get some good deer pics during the last drive that my Mom and I took while I was home.

See…

 Deers

Those two deer are total Bff’s.  Aren’t they pretty.

Here’s a whole herd of ‘em.  “Who’s that crazy lady on the side of the road?”

Deer Pack

White tailed (or is it white tail?) deer are beautiful, majestic animals.  They have delicate faces, slender little legs, and fluffy white tails.  But some deer dont’ really care too much about being majestic and beautiful.

Like this one…

Poo Deer

If a deer craps in the woods and no one is around to hear it, does it make a noise?  lol.

Seriously deer, have a little respect for yourself.  You never know when you’ll end up on someones blog.
