As you know I’ve been job hunting for about a month.  I enjoy my job I have, but I’m so much more qualified than that.  I’m not being snotty…that’s the truth.  I’m a killer employee, hard worker, quick learner, creative, multi-tasking freak at work.  Any company would be happy to have me as an employee.  They just don’t know that yet.  lol.  Anywho…I finally had an interview last week with a non-profit organization.  The position and the extra stuff that goes along with it (benefits, time-off, schedule, etc.) would be GREAT!  I had a pre-interview sort of deal and then went for a more formal interview the very next day.  I’ve been waiting rather impatiently by the phone all day long.  I will hopefully hear from that organization today.  Hopefully they will tell me that they want me to work for them and want to offer me a salary of well…a lot!  Remember….I’m priceless!

Well yesterday while I was waiting impatiently by my phone checking it every three minutes to see if I could have possibly missed a call…I got a call!  But not from the people that I interviewed with last week.  I got a call from another place that I had sent my resume.  This is for a coordinator position with an organization that is service oriented.  The organization works with community out reach, fund raising, education, recreation, etc. for underprivileged areas of Houston.  I’ve still got to do a bit of research on them , but from what I’ve seen it seems like a great organization that is truly out there to do some good in the City.  I’m going in for an interview on Friday morning.  I’m not exactly sure what the job description is as I’m interviewing for a position that is different than the one that I had sent my resume in for.  But the pay is GREAT!!!  It would be almost double of what I make currently.  I will find out more about the position today after someone emails the description.  I’m hoping that it’s a position that I’m not only qualified for but interested in doing.

So now begins some more nerve-wracking waiting.  Waiting for the first place to call me with an offer and waiting to interview with this new place.

Hopefully…with two interviews (hopefully two successful interviews) under my belt, I will get a nice job offer with a nice organization for a nice position that I will enjoy.  But don’t worry about me.  My Mom said that she was going to pray for me.  So now I’ve got God on my side.  But then again…my Mom isn’t much of a lady of the lord if you know what I mean.  But hey…anything helps right?

And not only am I job hunting…I’m house hunting.  T and I are in the throes of house hunting.  We want to be homeowners!  T met with a dude today who is an “accredited buyer.”  He is going to show us some houses that we’ve chosen online and he will also help us complete a sale (aka: helping us with the complicated paper work).  We won’t pay him anything as he will make his money from the seller of the house that we choose.  Purchasing a home and figuring out the mortgage stuff is like having a second job.  There is so much information to figure out.  We are pleasantly surprised at the great houses that you can find in the outer Houston area.  We can get a great house in a nice neighborhood for $100,000.  We might spend more…we might spend less.  We’ve always had high hopes of finding a house that we could fix up and then sell for a profit a couple years later.  Hopefully that dream can become a reality…very soon.  Our lease at our apartment is up soon and we don’t want to sign another one.  It’s kinda scary, but I would say that it’s more exciting than scary.  Wanting to purchase a house means that we need to pinch pennies to save up for the down payment/closing costs.  Hopefully we can do that within the next month or sooner.  Last night we spendt hours upon hours looking at houses on the Internet that the buyer guy had sent our way.  They all started looking the same after awhile and we had to quit for the night.  Our eyes were glazed over and our backs were killing us from being all hunched over in the office chairs.  We get back to the house hunt tonight.  We will hopefully check out some houses in person this weekend.

With all this hunting I’ve been doing lately I feel like I need to start carrying duck calls and rifles around with me.  Maybe I should start wearing camouflage when I’m on the hunt.  It might give me more motivation.  Or it will probably just make me look dumb.

Here’s a little humor for your Wednesday morning…or afternoon…or evening…

That makes total sense to me...

That makes total sense to me...

That made me srsly lol when I saw that.  If you suck at math like I do…you can totally see the humor in that.  If you’re a nerdy engineer then you’re probably thinking, “What a dumbass, that problem was so easy!”

Speaking of nerdy engineers:  Mine wanted me to update you all on his Online Selling addiction.  He only sold two items today and he’s not a happy boy.  He’s apparently on a quest to be a Power Seller and he said that two items a day just isn’t going to cut it.  Poor baby.
