Lists

I’m a list type person.  To-Do Lists, Grocery Lists, and….well….I can’t really think of any more lists that I create.  But I’m a big fan.  Since I’m feeling a little uninspired lately (as far as my blog goes) I think I’m going to rock some lists for a couple days.  Random?  Yes.  Interesting?  No guarantees.  :)

1.  I watch a lot of HGTV.  I especially love the flipping shows and the property shows.  And if you’re interested in home buying, remodeling, flipping whatever-watch HGTV!  You learn a lot and get to see other people make mistakes.  One thing that always bothers me about the home buying shows is when the buyers are walking through the dining room area and make a comment about the light fixture hanging so low.  “Oh, we’d definitely have to fix that.”  OK, obviously you’re in a dining room.  Where a dining room table would go.  If there’s a table there, you won’t be bumping into the light fixture.  Idiots.

2.  I went shopping yesterday at the Katy Mills mall.  It’s my favorite mall.  I went shopping for two reasons.  I needed a nice dress to wear to a formal wedding in a couple weeks.  I found one!  A really cute one that actually fits and looks nice.  I may post a picture of it later this week.  I paid about $67.00 for it!  More than I would normally pay for any article of clothing.  But it was on sale!  lol.  I was unsuccessful on my hunt for shoes to go with the dress.  I’ve got cave man feet and it’s nearly impossible to find shoes that look cute without making me want to cut my feet off with a dull saw.

3.  I also bought some stuff for my new job.  I already own a few pieces that would be okay to wear to this new job, but not nearly the amount of things that I really need.  For whatever reason, in my mind I feel like I should have 2 weeks worth of outfits to wear to work.  I want things that I can mix and match so that I can really get a bunch of different outfits out of my stuff.  I found some good stuff today at New York & Company.  That is one of my very favorite places to shop.  I still don’t feel like I have enough pieces, but it’s a good start.

4.  Another shopping feat that requires a public announcement….*drum roll please*…I BOUGHT A REAL BRA!  Actually I bought 4 real bras.  When I say a ‘real bra’ I mean a bra that isn’t a sports bra.  A bra that actually makes it look like you have 2 boobs instead of a uni-boob.  I spent about $65.00 for four bras, but they are nice and will last me a long time.  I actually had the lady measure me to make sure I was looking for the right size.  I’m a 38 nearly B.  Did you know there were ‘nearly’ sizes?  lol.  So I’m really big around (I have a huge rib cage) and have really small boobs.  The lady picked up some bras for me to try on.  After like 12 bras I finally found a style and size that fit.  It was a “Barely There” brand.  It’s really smooth and silky feeling.  I ended up getting a B size.  After trying on so many bras I discovered that one of my boobs fits perfect in a B cup and the other one fits perfectly in an A cup.  Just freakin’ great.  The B bra that I went with has a little padding (not much!) so it sort of fills in the boob that is lacking.  I’m not sure how comfortable I will feel wearing a real bra.  I like my small boobs and sports bras.  I’ll keep you posted.

5.  I took a nap yesterday.  All that shopping made me so freakin’ tired!!  I was only going to take an hour nap, but that tuned into a 2 hour nap.  I can’t remember the last time I took a nap.  It was great.  Although I do blame being tired with my new habit of not sleeping in past 10 a.m. on the weekends.  Normally, I’d be in bed till Noon on Sunday.  My body was probably in shock.

6.  Hurley always jumps over this big chair that we have.  He jumps from one arm to the other.  He was playing around the other day chasing the cat or something and he attempted to jump over the chair, but he missed.  He slammed into the arm and fell down.  He made a shrieking noise and I thought he’d broken his leg.  That whole night and the next morning he was limping around on his leg.  I felt it and moved it around and it felt okay.  I guess he just bruised it.  He’s okay now thank goodness.  Poor baby!

7.  I got my hair cut on Saturday.  I’ve been trying to grow my hair out for about a year.  It was getting pretty long, but it was also getting unmanageable and drab looking.  No matter how much conditioner I would use it would still take me ten minutes to get it untangled and that usually just involved ripping out my hair.  It’s still long (below my shoulders) but there are some shorter layers.  Having the layers makes it feel lighter and bouncier and will let it dry in probably half the time.  I’m still going to grow it out, but the layers were definitely needed.

8.  I like brussel sprouts.

9.  T and I both have new cars.  Most new cars come with the tire pressure system.  When one of your tires is low a light will come on on your dash.  That’s great because unlike a responsible driver-I never check my tire pressure.  But the annoying thing is that it doesn’t tell you what tire is low.  So you have to go around and check all your tires to find the one(s) that are low.  Okay so that’s not really a big deal but it would be so much easier if it could let you know which tire is low.  I guess our vehicles aren’t fancy enough.

10.  My T is coming home very soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Thank god.  Some days it feels like he just left and others it feels like he’s been gone for a year.  I know he’s looking forward to coming home too.  He’s been working everyday and working long hours.  Or at least that’s what he tells me.  He could spend all his time drinking and doing Nigerian hookers for all I know.

11.  I haven’t colored my hair in quite a few years.  I used to get highlights every once in a while, but I’m not going to color my hair anymore.  Most of the fake blonde highlights are grown out and I’m pleasantly surprised to see that I still have some blonde in my hair.  Coloring your hair is a pain and it costs money.  So I’m not doing it anymore.

12.  I only have a week and a half left at my current job.  I haven’t told any of the old people and I’m not sure when or how I’m going to do it.  I might write a letter or something or just start telling people I don’t know.  I don’t want them to have a heart attack or start crying uncontrollably.  :)   They are going to be shocked!

13.  We’re going to end the list on 13.  Hope you’re not supersticious.  ;)

Have a nice Monday-if that’s even possible.  I hate Mondays.
