Homeopathy – does it work?
In 2009 leading pharmacy Boots admitted that they didn’t believe homeopathic medicine works. Yet, despite this discovery and repeated scientific studies which prove that homeopathy gives little health benefits, the NHS still managed to spendover four million pounds last year developing homeopathic slimming pills.
Shocked by the NHS’s and leading Pharmacies ‘no harm’ attitude to homeopathy, more than 300 activists are now planning to partake in a huge homeopathic overdose to help increase public knowledge about the ineffectiveness of homeopathic remedies.
During this public exhibitionwhich is set to occur on the 30th January 2010, all 300 members will openly swallow in public an entire container of homeopathic tablets to show that they are nothing more than sugar pills and encourage pharmacies to stop selling them
Where did Homeopathy come from?
Question consumers and they will describe homeopathy as ‘all natural herbal medicine’ many of the ingredients found within this complementary herbal medicine are so dilute that there is nothing left to them.
Yet further background checks into the discovery of homeopathy has found that there is nothing herbal about it, but that it is purely structuredon three ideas developed in the 1800′s by Samuel Hahnemann. Threetheories which are still used to this day:
- The Law of Similars the theory where the cause of your symptoms can also cause them i.e. taking caffeine tablets to remedy insomnia
- The Law of Infinitesimals where the more dilute the remedy, the more potent it will become
- The Law of Succession where vigorous shaking of a homeopathic remedy would intensify its strength
Analysingthis history, it is easy to understand why demonstraters are calling upon the government to command the NIHCE (National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence) to assess whether it is appropriate for the National Health Service to pay for homeopathy. Providing restricted if any results, all scientific studies have the same conclusion that they will not boost your immune system.
